BACKWOODS SUGAR SHACK

ABOUT US
The Backwoods Sugar Shack was started 2016, however, my family and I have been making syrup since 2008 tapping about 330 trees. I decided that this was my passion, and after I graduated from high school, I grew the business to what it is today.

We tap over 4000 trees with the potential to tap another 4000+. Our most common question is "How much sap does it take to make a gallon of syrup". The answer depends on the sugar content of the sap. This year, it took about 45 gallons of sap for 1 gallon of syrup. It is definitely a labor intensive hobby but making something that everyone enjoys is worth all the hard work.
